Yokohama Biopharmaceutical Research and Development Center (YBIRD) has been launched by Kihara Memorial Yokohama Foundation with supports from Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry and Yokohama City government in Yokohama Bioindustry Center in order to activate biopharmaceuticals-related industry in Japan.
YBIRD, equipped with process lines both for mammalian cells and for microbial cells, is capable of manufacturing investigational drugs of recombinant proteins.
※The operation is stopped with a stainless-steel 200L bioreactor for microbial cell line.
We occasionally receive recombinant protein sample preparation with microbial cell line in a bench-scale.

The core businesses of YBIRD are contract manufacturing services, collaborative research on bioprocess, and bioprocess training. In contract manufacturing services, we offer lab-scale examination, bioprocess development, manufacturing of investigational drug substance, and performance evaluation of samples. Collaborative research on bioprocess includes, evaluation of technologies for recombinant protein expression cell culturing, protein purification, and protein analysis in order to establish high-quality and low-cost biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies. You can collaborate with us even in an early stage of process development. Moreover, we support the development of human resources in the bioprocess field through lectures and trainings.
